𝕎𝕖 𝕙𝕒𝕧𝕖 𝕒 𝕟𝕖𝕨 𝕟𝕒𝕞𝕖! . We’ve been thinking about it for a while & today we are pulling the trigger. So without further ado…Our new name is: @thathinsonlife . For those of you that are new here, we are the Hinsons! We are a family of 5 that have been working remotely, homeschooling, & traveling full-time for the last 3.5 almost 4 years. . We started longer term travel back in 2017 in our tiny little pop-up camper when we realized that our jobs & lifestyle gave us the freedom to travel & still build our careers & raise our family while exploring this amazing country. Then one thing led to another & we decided to sell it all and hit the road full time. . I’m Meagan, the main voice behind this account. I’m a passionate & intense person. I love being outside, trail running, hiking, & crossfit. I grew up in a super small town in WV & took my first cross country road trip when I was 17 in a Skoolie with some friends. Traveling is in my blood. . Joseph is my main squeeze, the tow master & fixer extraordinaire. He loves to geek out on all the techie things & for the last 7 years has been the lead thinker for the small marketing company we own where we work with authors and speakers. . Hannah is our 13 year old daughter. She loves reading, drawing anime, being outside & is an outstanding writer & ukulele player! . Norah is our sweet 11 year old daughter. She loves ALL animals & is sort of like an animal whisperer. She is very observant & empathetic, & is an excellent artist, & bass player. . Liam is our energetic & outgoing 9 year old son. He loves building robots with Legos, playing video games, & having nerf wars outside. He is exceptionally kind & extroverted & never ever sits still. . Phoenix (not pictured), is our 2 year old Boston Terrier. She’s a total handful. Super sweet, adorable, and a total psycho. But we are so glad she’s ours, though she’s been way more work then we planned. . We’re so glad that you are here & so grateful to have you be a part of our journey. Follow along as we figure out how the heck to navigate this new nomadic lifestyle we’ve chosen. . Amazing 📸: by our talented friend @jeromebraga from @our1chance!

We're a family of five from Virginia who have always valued family time and tried to make the most of our short time together. We realize we have only 18 summers to make the most of our time with our kids, and we don't plan on any of that going to waste.

In 2016, in the midst of a very stressful life transition, we decided to get a pop-up camper to try an experiment in getting close to nature and engaging with each other. The next year, we took it out for a month-long trip.

In the spring of 2018, we decided to follow what many of our friends thought was a crazy idea. We sold our pop-up and purchased a big truck, and travel trailer. In August, we sold our home and set off on our journey to see all of the states on the continent.

We've been on the road since August of 2018, and it's the best decision we've ever made. We'd be honored if you followed our journey.

Mission & Vision

We have 940 Saturdays until our kids graduate from high school and go on to college. That's 18 summers to make the most of our time with them.

Every year, we make resolutions to be intentional. Eat less, exercise more, get up earlier etc. We want to live our life on purpose, be intentional about parenting and being together and make family our favorite thing.

These are the values we live by:

  • Live Truthfully

Truth is defined as "Agreement with Reality". We want to be real people and let our authenticity shine through. We pursue relationships that are capable of depth and vulnerability. Nobody's perfect, let everybody see it.

  • Parent with Purpose

Not that everyone isn't trying to parent with purpose, but we want to be super intentional about how we do this thing called parenting. Our goal is to create fertile soil for good guidance.

  • Roll with the Punches

Circumstances change, careers end, it's ok to simply enjoy the moment you're in, and not focus on what you're NOT getting.

  • Connect with Others

We're social creatures, and sometimes the most meaningful human interaction you experience can be from a stranger you happen to strike up a conversation with. Take time for each other.

  • Nature is Good for the Soul

Being close to nature allows you to connect in deeper, more meaningful ways with the world around you. It puts you at a better disposition and allows you to realize that there is a bigger ecosystem than just your own needs.

  • Our Environment is our teacher

We're always trying to learn from our environment. Whether it's the way we see others, or the way we can be called to a higher degree of awareness of the world around us. We can learn something new every day.
