Million Dollar Highway. So beautiful but not as treacherous as I thought it would be.

The section in the first photo is probably the most sketchy part. But it was a pretty short section.
.
I’d seen lots of videos and posts about this road and had sort of built it up in my mind, I think, and thought it was going to be way more treacherous than it was.
.
We saw quite a few people taking their rigs (travel trailers, class A’s, etc) over the mountain using this road, so it’s definitely doable.
.
But there is NOT a guard rail on most of it, so if your not super comfortable on roads like this, I wouldn’t try it.
.
We really enjoyed the drive and all it’s beauty. Definitely worth a trip across it if you are in the Montrose, Ridgway, Ouray , or Silverton area!
.
It didn’t quite hold a candle to my favorite scenic drive, Going to the Sun Road, but it was still gorgeous and interesting nonetheless.
.
Tell me what is your favorite scenic drive so we can add it to our bucket list?!
