When things don’t go as planned (part 2) - Glacier National Park • I woke up super early, anxious to figure out a solution to our situation and I did what I do when I’m stressed. I prayed. Then we immediately started calling RV parks in the area to see if we could find a spot. • We called one on the east side of the park and they were totally booked except for 1 site for 1 night with NO HOOKUPS for $50....no thanks. We then checked the KOA, completely booked. • We decided to try campgrounds on the West side. It’s the more developed and convenient side of the park, which we were actually excited about the idea of moving to. It was a 2-hour drive away...but worth it. • We called Glacier Campground, which was about 1.5 miles right outside of the west entrance. We felt like it was a total long shot, but thought that it couldn’t hurt to try. • Much to our surprise, they had an opening!! The lady that answered the phone said that it must have been our lucky day because someone had just canceled a 6-night reservation for a water and electric site! We were so stoked! • We then called the ranger station to see about canceling the rest of our reservation in the NPS campground. They said it was totally not a problem to cancel and we’d receive a full refund for the rest of the time! What?! Amazing! • The site we landed in was a really great site too. It was private and spacious and super convenient to most of the stuff we wanted to do. In the end, we were actually in a much better situation than we were before my mistake! • Full time travel can present some really stressful situations into your life and boy has it ever for us. But what we are consistently learning is that things are never as big as they seem and when we trust and pray, things work out. •

Y’all this is my heartbeat right here. Backpacking in the mountains with amazing views and my favorite people. . I’m pretty sure this looks far more like what most people thought we meant when we said we were going to be RVing full time. Right?! . Back in August we set out on our first family backpacking trip in the Mt. Hood National forest. After ALOT of prep work and research and gear purchasing, we finally were ready to get out there! . My mom heart could not be more stoked that my kids are wanting to do this kind of thing as they are getting older, and that all those hikes that we powered through when they were younger and whiny are finally paying off . . Tent camping is still the worst, for anyone that is wondering , but I loved being out in the wilderness and waking up in the mountains with the the sun and the birds, and getting to experience something new. . What about you? Does this sound like torture to you or an awesome way to adventure? .
