We took our kids on their first flight this past winter. We had traveled to 49 states but had never taken them on a flight. Needless to say, they were super stoked.
This was our journey from Palm Springs, California to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where we spent a week with family at an ocean front beach house.
It was so strange to go from the dry humid desert air of Palm Springs to the super humid air of coastal South Carolina. But we were all so grateful for the time we got to spend with family since we had been on the West Coast for the last eight months.
The kids loved their first flight experience and are excited to fly again some day. And now that they all have their own suitcases, it’ll be a lot easier. (It’s funny that in RV travel you don’t really need a suitcase, so we had to buy everybody one.)
And one of the coolest things was that we were able to get all of the plane tickets and our hotel room with points from our credit card that we have been using since we started traveling.
We put almost all of our expenses on this card and pay it off monthly and have accumulated a ton of points over the last five years.
This made getting flights for five people during a busy and often expensive travel season much more feasible.
This travel life never ceases to amaze me at how it opens our eyes and gives us new perspectives and experiences. And this was one that we will never forget.
May you all get to experience something new this year!
