That’s a wrap for the 50th Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta!

That’s a wrap for the 50th Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta! I’ll be honest with ya, this year was not the same for me. I was super excited to come back, but it didn’t exactly live up to the hype of last year.

Maybe it was the weather? It definitely didn’t help that almost every day something was cancelled or delayed. Or maybe it was how the vibe had changed so drastically in some areas from last year. Or maybe it was that we were tired from traveling all the way from Alaska down to New Mexico. 😴 But I wasn’t into it as much this year as last.

However, there were some pretty great things that happened:

🏜1. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the city of Albuquerque this time! We had more time to explore and eat and drink and tour the city and I absolutely fell in love with it! There were so many cool spots we visited and that I will definitely want to come back to again some day!

🏜2. We made some very cool new friends and got to see some old ones, and got to share it with some of our travel buddies and friends that flew out!

🏜 3. I got to share some special times with my kiddos as we got up early to ride our bikes in the dark and eat delicious food and shop at the little vendor spots!

And as I look back at the moments captured in this reel and remember the sweet moments that happened, I’m really glad that we came!….And that it’s over now and that we are on 50 amp hook ups in a quiet and peaceful park .

Will we do it next year? 🤷🏻‍♀️ The reality is in travel life just like in normal life, things change and so do the seasons of life that we are in. So we’ll have to see how we are feeling closer to next year!

But for now, see ya later Albuquerque! And thank you to all the people that worked so insanely hard to make the 50th year a good one! I know there were many ups and downs to this week and your hard work was definitely noticed!

Y’all this is my heartbeat right here. Backpacking in the mountains with amazing views and my favorite people. . I’m pretty sure this looks far more like what most people thought we meant when we said we were going to be RVing full time. Right?! . Back in August we set out on our first family backpacking trip in the Mt. Hood National forest. After ALOT of prep work and research and gear purchasing, we finally were ready to get out there! . My mom heart could not be more stoked that my kids are wanting to do this kind of thing as they are getting older, and that all those hikes that we powered through when they were younger and whiny are finally paying off . . Tent camping is still the worst, for anyone that is wondering , but I loved being out in the wilderness and waking up in the mountains with the the sun and the birds, and getting to experience something new. . What about you? Does this sound like torture to you or an awesome way to adventure? .
