RV life has changed me.

RV life has changed me. . We said goodbye to these amazing humans (@the_nomadi_kidds) a couple of weeks ago. We’ve lived in the same hometown for at least 20 years (some of us even longer) and we never hung out and most of us had never even met until 8 weeks ago when we all met up in FL. . It’s amazing to me how the rv life connects you to people and the depth that can happen in such a short amount of time. . I’m not sure why life is so different out here. Why people are more open to connection and spontaneous hangouts or even why I’m more open to these things on the road. . But it’s life changing. . I was just more closed off in our stationary life. More compartmentalized, less open. Being out here traveling for almost 4 years has changed me for the better. . And the people that I have added to my list of lifelong friends has grown so much too. . No, things aren’t perfect out here. There are plenty of people that aren’t your vibe and you aren’t theirs. There are still hurt feelings and betrayals, people that are trying to be cool, and people that are rude. . But more than not we have met some of the best of humanity and now have the privilege of calling them friends! . Would you or do you vacation or travel with friends? We never really did before this life. But I think that it helps that we can all bring our houses with us . . . . . .

Y’all this is my heartbeat right here. Backpacking in the mountains with amazing views and my favorite people. . I’m pretty sure this looks far more like what most people thought we meant when we said we were going to be RVing full time. Right?! . Back in August we set out on our first family backpacking trip in the Mt. Hood National forest. After ALOT of prep work and research and gear purchasing, we finally were ready to get out there! . My mom heart could not be more stoked that my kids are wanting to do this kind of thing as they are getting older, and that all those hikes that we powered through when they were younger and whiny are finally paying off . . Tent camping is still the worst, for anyone that is wondering , but I loved being out in the wilderness and waking up in the mountains with the the sun and the birds, and getting to experience something new. . What about you? Does this sound like torture to you or an awesome way to adventure? .
