Have you ever caravanned with friends?

Have you ever caravanned with friends? . We had not! And honestly being an introvert and a recovering perfectionist🤨….I was always very apprehensive of the idea…I mean, don’t you get tired of each other?! Won’t they see all of our crazy ?! (Spoiler alert: Yes, they did…but they still like us anyway. So that’s a good sign, right?! ) . We had the privilege to caravan with @montgomerys_on_the_move for 4 months and I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome it was! These amazing people became like family to us! . At first it’s all fun and games and you stay up too late and hang out non-stop and then….you find a rhythm for normal life and still get the fun but in a more “neighborhood” kind of way. . You have built in friends to enjoy adventures and happy hours and your kids have motivation to get school done quickly each day so they can go and play. And… when you run out of something, like we always did, your sweet caravan friend will always have it on hand…if you chose wisely😛. . Chris, Johnna and their kids are some of the kindest and most generous people we know. We all just vibed so well, which I think is key when you choose your carvanning buddies. . We were sad to finally reach the point where we had to say “see you later” but cannot wait until our nomad life pulls us back together again! Which we know will happen some day soon! ___________

Y’all this is my heartbeat right here. Backpacking in the mountains with amazing views and my favorite people. . I’m pretty sure this looks far more like what most people thought we meant when we said we were going to be RVing full time. Right?! . Back in August we set out on our first family backpacking trip in the Mt. Hood National forest. After ALOT of prep work and research and gear purchasing, we finally were ready to get out there! . My mom heart could not be more stoked that my kids are wanting to do this kind of thing as they are getting older, and that all those hikes that we powered through when they were younger and whiny are finally paying off . . Tent camping is still the worst, for anyone that is wondering , but I loved being out in the wilderness and waking up in the mountains with the the sun and the birds, and getting to experience something new. . What about you? Does this sound like torture to you or an awesome way to adventure? .
