Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse.
.
This lighthouse is located down on the southwest harbor of Acadia National Park in a much quieter part of Mt. Desert Island.
.
It’s a pretty popular tourist stop though so going at the less popular times of day can help ensure you get a spot in it’s tiny parking lot.
.
You can’t tour inside the lighthouse but you can walk around the grounds and follow a trail down to the rocky shore below, which actually provides a more picturesque view anyway.
.
Fun fact: Bass Harbor is still a functioning lighthouse and has it’s own distinct light pattern to alert boats of the Bass Harbor Bar below it.
