When we first started using @thousandtrails, the stress of picking out our spot (most TT parks don’t assign you a spot, you pick your own) and finding a place that would be our home for the week was a little overwhelming. . It was hard to envision how those bare spots could be transformed into a place that felt like home to us. . Now, after 3 years of travel and staying in so many campgrounds. I know that every spot can become a place where we all feel at home and it honestly only takes a few minutes. Yes, some places definitely feel more welcoming than others, but adding our touch to each site makes it feel like it’s ours while we are there. . This was the campground we stayed in when we visited the awesome beach I shared in my last post. It can be a little tricky to navigate with a big rig, but we usually stick to the first loop and do just fine. Cell service is also spotty, so if you need that, be sure to check it before you settle into your spot. . We were able to get enough service to work. But Joseph did drive 5 minutes to a library in town when he had client calls to ensure the signal was solid. . But we have honestly not been to many campgrounds that have such easy access to such a gorgeous location like Cape Kiwanda Beach. This is one we will return to every time we are in Oregon! . . . . .

Y’all this is my heartbeat right here. Backpacking in the mountains with amazing views and my favorite people. . I’m pretty sure this looks far more like what most people thought we meant when we said we were going to be RVing full time. Right?! . Back in August we set out on our first family backpacking trip in the Mt. Hood National forest. After ALOT of prep work and research and gear purchasing, we finally were ready to get out there! . My mom heart could not be more stoked that my kids are wanting to do this kind of thing as they are getting older, and that all those hikes that we powered through when they were younger and whiny are finally paying off . . Tent camping is still the worst, for anyone that is wondering , but I loved being out in the wilderness and waking up in the mountains with the the sun and the birds, and getting to experience something new. . What about you? Does this sound like torture to you or an awesome way to adventure? .
