This is 40 y’all!

This is 40 y’all! Experiencing outdoor adventures and new things with my favorite people! I honestly can’t think of better way to usher in mid life ! . This birthday carried a lot of weight to me for some reason. Maybe because it’s a big one and I was afraid I’d be disappointed or something. But Joseph and the kids literally brought me to tears with all the intentional ways they showed me love. . They gave me time alone to go shopping, surprised me with decorations and dinner, and then breakfast on my actual birthday. And the icing on the cake was taking me on my first whitewater rafting trip on the Deschutes River. . I’m excited for what the 40’s have to offer! And hopefully it’s as much wisdom and confidence as the grey showing up in my hair . . Also, @allstarrafting company was amazing! If you are in the Bend, Mt. Hood area, definitely look them up for a rafting trip! Grey, our guide was exceptional and kept the kids entertained and engaged the whole time! . . . . . . .

Y’all this is my heartbeat right here. Backpacking in the mountains with amazing views and my favorite people. . I’m pretty sure this looks far more like what most people thought we meant when we said we were going to be RVing full time. Right?! . Back in August we set out on our first family backpacking trip in the Mt. Hood National forest. After ALOT of prep work and research and gear purchasing, we finally were ready to get out there! . My mom heart could not be more stoked that my kids are wanting to do this kind of thing as they are getting older, and that all those hikes that we powered through when they were younger and whiny are finally paying off . . Tent camping is still the worst, for anyone that is wondering , but I loved being out in the wilderness and waking up in the mountains with the the sun and the birds, and getting to experience something new. . What about you? Does this sound like torture to you or an awesome way to adventure? .
